This Bacon Damascus Bowie was forged from 1084 and 15N20 steel, it has a a beautiful profile on the blade, the "S" shaped guard with clam shell filing in the ends is proportioned well, and the handle has fits great in the hand. The handle is constructed of a copper "S" guard, a filed piece of Micarta with Nickel Silver spacers and spalted Hackberry wood. Hidden tang. 12 1/4 inch blade, 17 3/8 inches overall. 1084 and 15N20 steel.
This Bowie was presented at the 2023 Central States Hammer-in and Knife show in Columbus Kansas and won the category for Best Bowie. J. Neilson was the deciding judge at the event.
This knife comes with a black leather and snake skin inlay sheath as well as a brown leather sheath with beaver tail inlay made by Joshua Rhea. Award plaque not included.
About the Maker: Lee Parsons has been bladesmithing since 2019 and hails from Shell Knob, Missouri. His favorite builds are daggers and Bowies, but he also creates stainless steel skinners and kitchen knives. He often builds higher end art or collector knives and is a skilled engraver. He has won awards for Best Bowie, Best Damascus, Best Fighter, and Best Dagger and has been published in various knife publications.
